My sympathy is with you all When I watch the news it just seems to go from bad to worse in the UK and around the world for that matter. We all know that politiicians and governments all over can be next to useless but it is dissapointing to find out that they can be so obviously and thoroughly corrupt too.
At least whilst I watch all this trouble and turbulence I am in a place that is calm, peaceful and close to nature. I can take the dog out and enjoy the fantastic scenery around me and simply forget about it all. And I do.
My advice has to be don't wait any more. Don't wait to see if they can sort themselves out, find a place where you can enjoy your time for you and your family. Get off that treadmill and start living.
With the fantastic bargains we have on www.simplylimousinproperty.com you can find the right place at the right price. Property in the Limousin has never been more reasonable! At Simply Limousin Property we are waiting to help you.

Now is the time to buy - why??
For many reasons buying a property here in the centre of France seems to be the thing to do right now.
Having seen a good upturn in sales in the month of April we are now seeing a steady return to the positive purchasing attitude that we had become so used to in the past. The Limousin, Charente and Centre regions have always been popular places for second homes and for those wishing to move to France, but over the past six months or so people seem to have been biding their time waiting to see what the financial future was for the housing markets both in the UK and in France.
I am now pleased to report that things seem to be back on track again and the confidence is growing amongst buyers and sellers alike. We are seeing good deals being brokered by both parties and everyone walking away feeling like a bargain has been struck. Most properties are going for a little less than the asking price at the moment but not a huge amount less. Some overpriced properties have at last been reduced to come in line with the norm and offer a good buy.
So if you have been delaying waiting to see what would happen then don't miss out. Now is the time to make the move and come over to France to start to view, you too may be able to get a really good property at a realistic price. I would also ask the tentative vendor to think seriously now and put your property onto the market we do need good houses at the right prices to offer our customers and we cannot do it without you.
If you are worried about obtaining a UK loan then don't hesitate to investigate with us prior to your visit your buying power by using our local French banks, we can get you an answer as to how much you can borrow in 48 hours of presentation of the necessary paperwork. All can be scanned and emailed from you to us to make it quick and easy.
So with all this info there should be nothing to make you hesitate a moment longer. See you soon!! |

Just back to the sunny Limousin Well this week just gone I decided to take a trip to the UK to visit family and see what is going on on the other side of the water.
I was in many ways pleasantly surprised but mainly I was convinced that my life in France is a far better option for me and my family.
We see the news over here and it always seems so gloomy; but I did notice that the real life in the UK is not quite so bad. People seemed happy and friendly and getting on with life despite the dreadful financial circumstances that the media are promising with haunt us all for the forseeable future.
However, as much as I did have a great holiday and enjoyed being back again for a while when I got back to Limoges and that plane hit the tarmac I knew I was home. I knew that I was in the right place and that the freedom and quality of life we have here is the best. No traffic, no crime, no worries about my children playing out and rambling around freely and no shortage of space. That was the main thing for me - the space. We have so much here in France it is not an issue but over in the UK it seems that there are just so many people in such a small space.
The truth is when your in it you don't really notice but when your used to something else it is a startling difference.
So, I am happy to be home and am waiting to introduce you to the wonders of the Limousin, the culture of France, and the space of this green and pleasant land. |

Keeping you up to date As you may or may not know, I am an independent, fully registered agent here in the Limousin area of France and have been so for over 6 years. I have a vast array of experience, as I started off here in France having made the move from south London with my husband and two children, over 11 years ago now.
In the beginning, I did the usual type of work, renovated a couple of houses (well not me you understand alone, my husband who is a registered builder did most of the work. I just kept him company, made the tea, looked after the kids, did the last minute run to the bricolage shops for items of building material neither I nor the shop assistants had ever heard of and generally kept myself busy in this pretty area). Back then life was simple, fun and easy and I thought that we were probably the only English speaking people living in, what was at that time, a relatively undiscovered area.
However, once the two kids went to school full time, I needed something else to occupy my time and even though we had renovated a couple of holiday homes which we rented out I still wanted something just for me and with my newly found love and knowledge of the wonderful Limousin houses I decided Estate Agency would be just the ticket. So for the past 6 years I have happily helped people to do what I have done and realise their dreams of living in France. I find the work very rewarding, as it feels so much more than just buying and selling houses for people. It is truly a service, which helps people to make major life changes, in many cases.
As you can imagine for us here in France, just like you in the UK, Ireland or anywhere else in Europe life is no longer so free and easy. The economic situation, which seems to have gripped the world, is affecting us here too. Things have become a bit more expensive and many people and businesses are being affected by the slowdown. But there is one thing that does not change, we may be finding it tougher but we find in tougher in the same beautiful surroundings and we still have time to gossip with the neighbours and our friends as life here is still slower. What we have we don't ever consider it could be stolen as there are no personal security issues. And we feel more secure in the knowledge that the French have never gone mad on the credit side of life and pretty much know how to live within their means.
As for the price of food, well we grow our own mostly and can go without meat if we have to. If oil and gas got too expensive, we can cycle with pleasure on the quiet network of roads that wind their way through the region. No mortgage, only the bills to be paid and the wood here, which is our main source of fuel is still very cheap, sustainable and as trees are replanted when cut it is renewable too. So we have to count ourselves very lucky to be here and we do. But we always spare a thought for all those who will and are finding it much tougher.
The reason I was writing this news item was to make sure you know that I have spent a lot of time now updating my new website, I hope you like it, and for the past few days, I have been concentrating on getting the best of the cheaper houses we have onto the site. I will keep on doing this as it may be that that is what is needed right now. So keep an eye on what I load and if anything takes your fancy then please just call or email me, I'll be waiting to help where I can.

As the long hot summer draws to an end So the summer is coming to an end, well as far as the holidays are concerned anyway. With regard to the weather, here in the Limousin we are still enjoying wonderfully hot days and balmy evenings. But things are beginning to quieten down; the tourists are slowly packing up and leaving and the children are preparing for the "rentree scolaire" (return to school). Just a few more days to go and it is back to work as usual.
I have to admit that this year it was a bit different for the house hunter, they seemed to be unsure, not knowing what the UK credit crunch has in store for them back home. They were more nervous; but for the buyer with the money on his hip then the story was very different. Great properties, at good prices, on offer all over the Limousin, Indre, Correze and Vienne regions, which I cover. Serious buyers were able to find the right property at the right price with my help. Even though the numbers were down on visits the sales were just as good.
You see there is a different feel here to all this credit crunch, doom, and gloom. In France our lenders have been far more careful and have never let the good times roll the dice too high. So there are not as many people in as much trouble as the media would have us believe.
Don't get me wrong prices are not dropping dramatically but with a prevailing wind and good negotiation skills then we can help you to achieve the right price for the right property.
So what can we expect from the coming months, as autumn will take hold? An influx I think! So many people still want to make the move, change their lives and/or prepare for their future. There is the right property out there for everyone at the right price.
We can go as low as say 30k Euros to find a good renovation project, 80k Euros for a small but tidy house in a good position, 150k Euros for something to expand into with good land and of course with 200k Euros upward well the choice is most certainly there.
Here’s your official invite to take a look at the selection of properties we have, which I have personally selected as being the best of the bunch and don't just think about doing it, come and see me.
